Rise Review

March 26, 2018

Can you believe we're trying something new again?!?! With a new church website it creates some new possibilities for us in terms of communication. We hope this ends up being a really good thing.

This is ultimately an experiment once again. We've been busy the past couple weeks! Sorry for the lack of a Rise Review last week - so you get a double dose today.

We've been going through a series called "All Access" talking about the who, what, why, where, and how of approaching God. On 3/18 Cory taught us about going to Jesus when it comes to temptation. If we try to rely on our own strength to conquer sin in our lives we are going to fail. But we have access to a power that is far greater than our own in Jesus, and He wants to help. There were a lot of good discussions around this.

This past Sunday 3/25 we finished up this series with Eliecia teaching us about the very difficult topic of God's will. This came up in discussions and it can be really hard to resist the temptation of thinking that God's will always assumes some kind of action on our parts. What does He want me to do? Sometimes there is something. But far more often God's will in our lives has much more to do with who we are becoming. How we treat God, how we treat others has much more to do with our hearts and character than accomplishing any mighty feats. We all have access to His transformative power.

WE ARE OFF FOR THE NEXT 2 SUNDAYS

     4.1 OFF (Easter)

4.8 OFF (some teens doing a local mission trip this week)

We'll be back Sunday 4.15 with a new series called "Close"

Have a Happy Easter and as always - thanks for sharing your amazing teens with us!

Blessings,
